Between April and July 2025, MAYANK Anti-Corruption Coalition (MACCO), under the Civil Peace Service (CPS) Program, implemented activities aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities in Terego and Yumbe districts.
During this period, MACCO trained 47 community-based Peace Advocates in land administration, environmental management, and conflict resolution. These advocates have since mediated 40 conflict cases, with 33 disputes successfully resolved, including land conflicts, deforestation cases, and GBV-related disputes linked to resource use.
In addition, awareness sessions on land and natural resource user rights reached 376 community members across the project areas, strengthening knowledge of legal procedures and promoting non-violent conflict resolution.
These interventions continue to strengthen local structures for sustainable peace, accountability, and improved governance of land and natural resources.
