Who We Are

Advancing Transparency and Accountable Governance

MAYANK Anti-Corruption Coalition (MACCO) is an indigenous civil society organization founded on April 21, 2008, and based in West Nile, Uganda. The Coalition was established to foster transparency and accountability as foundation stones for quality service delivery and sustainable development in the region.

MACCO works closely with citizens, civil society organizations, local governments, and development partners to promote good governance, social accountability, and respect for human rights. Our approach centers on citizen empowerment, strengthening local institutions, and building collaborative platforms that encourage meaningful participation in governance processes.

Guiding Our Work in Governance and Accountability

Promote transparency and accountability in public institutions and non-state agencies

Strengthen local governance to contribute to consolidating democratic governance and rule of law

Empower civil society organizations and communities to champion the fight against corruption, influence service delivery, contribute to poverty reduction and development process

Promote respect and protection of human rights

Improve quality of public policies/programs and enhance sustainable development

Promote participation of the vulnerable poor sections of the community i.e. women, youth, children, Persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the elderly in governance.
